Here's the thing- it doesn't matter how many years pass, Mean Girls will still be relevant. As a college rep who spends a considerable amount of time interacting with high school students, I consider myself fully qualified in making that bold of a statement. Over the last couple weeks, I have had numerous visits at different high schools all across my region, each different, yet the same.
Observation Number 1: boys (for whatever reason) think it is hilarious to put bumper stickers on their foreheads. What? Why? There is no answer.
ON (ON = Observation Number (see what I did there?)) 2: the cool kid always thinks he can get away with hitting on everyone (teachers included... high school is a weird place, alright).
ON 3: All principles carry a certain level of arrogant confidence, and it is easy to spot one that the students do not respect.
ON 4: High School cafeterias (or other general meeting areas) are best summed up by this photo, as described in the ever applicable, Mean Girls.

| I was located somewhere near the vending machines. Where does that put me on the social ladder?? |
- The cool kid (you know, the one who flirts with the teacher) will also kick open the cafeteria door in an attempt to wow his lackeys.
- Shy kids will duck their head an walk away when greeted with a simple "hello" from a stranger. :(
- The beautiful girls will always be masters at pretending to ignore equally attractive boys in an attempt to gain their attention.
- Freshman boys love to strut in their JV uniforms.
- Cheerleaders. Ugh.
- Lunch time is sacred.
